Akinabalu??

Mt Kinabalu expedition was like Mt Everest expedition to me..Maybe I shouldn’t have used the word expedition as it is like a casual hiking for some or most people who would likely to agree. I have always been timid towards Mother Nature and its creation. I believe no man greatest invention could supersede. As I stand on starting point of the hiking trail, I have set my goal to reach Laban Rata at the 1st attempt and I achieved it on 25th April but with sufficient muscle ache that almost deter my fighting spirit to move on. As I sat in the petite yet icy hut, I can’t imagine how it would be to climb up the peak the next morning. The wind blew at torque speed (well at that moment it seems to be) and rain pours as it wishes where it seems to only pour whenever the sky sees me. I kept thinking, I have struggled through 6 aching hours climb under the rain and cold wind, therefore climb up to peak is a must. So near yet so far as I looked up trying to catch a glimpse of the peak which is just 2km away from my hut. However the darkness prevail me from having any sneak peak instead the cold wind and mist pushes me back into the hut and the next thing I know, I have curdled up on the lower bunk. The bunk which I slept the night before doesn’t seems to be welcoming me with warmth as the sheets are icy cold and cold wind that seeps through the window panes keep blowing onto my face. I was determine to go but my gut feeling says no as my right nasal passage was almost blocked due to my sinus that always gets worse whenever it is not supposed too. Well when I am in the wilderness and at such height, I believe listening to self intuition is the best survival skill, maybe I am seeing to many episodes of National Geographic. Anyway, I was very determine to made it to the peak was because it was a hard way up and I’ll only climb this mountain once in my lifetime. I do quite pamper my own self therefore if I were to be invited to climb this mountain again, I would think twice or thrice before leaping excitedly with a YES! But I couldn’t make it to the top this time, so should I come again and try my luck next time? Hmmm…let give that thought a snooze for a while, simultaneously I fall asleep as the paracetemol effect kick off. I was awaken by the sounds of birds chirping which sounded like those birds that wakes me up every morning at my home. I must be hallucinating I thought as I don’t see any birds when I climbed up the day before. The water stream seems to be louder and it has indeed increased it speed. It must have rained I thought. I then wonder whether they have made it to the peak and enjoyed the magnificent view. The moment I saw his disappointed face, I knew that their journey to the peak was halted. No one could blame the weather man for its weather schedule; it is just mere bad luck. I once read mountain is a holy place and guarded by holy spirits therefore should be treated with high dignity and respect. Perhaps we were being ignorant. Perhaps if we were more humble the next time around, we could be rewarded by the mountain for a chance to sit on the peak’s platform. Well, every event that takes place has its own reason and course which affect one another. Although I came down with massive flu and fever, I did not regret this experience as I only live once in a life time. I’ll only regret if I really did gave up after walking up 1 km from Timpohon Gate.

P/S: Thanks to Kenny who did the arrangements and hearty meals.

Rubbish? Snobbish?

Old lady stopped at dustbin,
Without hesitation her hand thoroughly search through the content
EewwwW! Slimmey! Hear one says
Yuck!! Gross! Hear another says
Oh My God!!! What a stench!!! Hear the other says
The next moment, everyone gave her a bewildered stare
Amazingly she seems oblivious to the remarks, stares and facial expressions
Well the first impression was “The old lady is filthy and dirty”,
Oddly her clothing and her bicycle doesn’t constitute to such remarks.
So why is she labelled so?
If you may stay a little while and observe a little longer,
You may see the outcome of her search
It’s a CAN!!! Made of aluminium …
Well isn’t she doing a noble cause for us?
I hear a loud NO!
You may disagree by saying she could be senile and should stay at home/safe place with family,
You may add in by saying she could be doing other things better than this,
You may be right. But do pause and think for a moment that I am right, when I say
She is doing much more for the good of the environment than you are.
At the end of the day, she is in fact recycling = minimizing waste for the environment to digest
At the current rate of product manufacturing, rubbish/waste are multiplying at a higher rate
The mother earth could passed out due to the massive rubbish forced into her digestion
Well why don’t we play a part in recycling or you may say play a part in such a noble cause
As to think of it, the stage shouldn’t be acted by a single person, everyone should play their part
So say Yippeee!! Or Yewwwhooo!!! To recycling and tendering the mother earth ….
